Security and privacy

Pupils' records, kept safe.

A school's results and registers are some of the most sensitive records it keeps. TermBook is built so the right people see them, nobody changes them quietly, and they never leave the school's control.

Protection

What TermBook does to keep records safe.

Encrypted on the phone

Records on the phone are kept in an encrypted database. An optional PIN or fingerprint locks the app.

Encrypted in transit

Every sync with the school travels over an encrypted connection.

Roles

A subject teacher sees their subjects; a class teacher their class; only the admin sees the whole school.

Nothing changes quietly

Approved results are locked. Unlocking needs a reason, and every version is kept with who changed what.

Access ends at once

When a teacher leaves, the admin removes them and their access to the school ends immediately.

Never sold

Pupils' data is never sold, shared for advertising, or used for anything but the school's own work.

Location

Read once, when a register is saved. Never tracked.

If your school asks for registers to be taken on the premises, TermBook reads the phone's location at the moment of saving — with the app open — and records whether it was inside the school area.

  • No background location, no location history
  • Fake-location apps detected
  • Only the school admin sees where a register was taken
Registers in TermBook

Your data, your school

The school owns its records.

They can always be viewed, printed and exported — even after a plan ends. Teachers can delete their own account in the app at any time; the school keeps the records it owns.

Give your school results it can trust.

Every new school gets one full term free — no card, no payment. Or book a demonstration for your staff.
